My approach

As an integrative therapist, I believe there is no single approach to therapy that works best for everyone. I blend various therapeutic tools, strategies, and principles to tailor my approach to your unique needs and hear your story in its entirety rather than just addressing symptoms. My work is informed by attachment-based principles, embodied practices, and relational trust; and I am deeply committed to anti-oppressive practice in recognition of the painful impact that social inequality and discrimination can have on particular groups of people.

Here's some more information about the terminology I use:

  • Attachment: the bond between you and your early caregivers and the environment in which you grew up shape (but do not completely define) who you are today. Together we can explore the connection between the past and the present.

  • Embodiment: our bodies contain wisdom that words can't always express. Cultivating an awareness of  the sensations in your body and the body-mind connection, creates the potential for deeper healing. This is particularly valuable if you have a history of trauma, as it can help with nervous system regulation.

  • Relationships: wellbeing is built on trusting, honest and collaborative relationships. As we get to know each other, exploring how we interact (not just the content) will enable you to express yourself more authentically outside the therapy room and form more meaningful relationships with yourself and others.
