CLAUDIA CARTER COUSSINS
PSYCHOTHERAPY
About me

Hello, I'm Claudia, a psychotherapist (UKCP and MBACP), researcher and wellbeing coach with over 15 years of experience dedicated to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of individuals, families, and communities.

I provide private integrative psychotherapy and therapeutic coaching, work for Spiral Holistic Therapy Centre (a low cost service in Islington), and conduct freelance 'system change' work (research, teaching and facilitation) for organisations with a social conscience such as the YMCA, the Feminist Therapy Network, the Minster Centre and the Anna Freud Centre.

My professional goal is to create more equitable, compassionate and effective mental health and wellbeing support; always considering and critiquing the broader social and political context to foster healthier minds, bodies, relationships, and communities. I believe human pain is inevitable but there is a lot that can be done to alleviate avoidable suffering, cultivate joy & meaningful relationships, and create more equitable support.
As a mixed-race, Black feminist, my ongoing professional development, commitment to radical self-care, and personal therapy helps me work towards this goal as well as navigate my own challenges, trauma, privilege and relationships. I've made a list of books that have helped me over the years that might support your wellbeing journey.
